La chose à retenir à propos des soins d’affirmation de genre est qu’ils sauvent des vies.
Si une personne que tu connais est en transition, ce n’est probablement pas qu’une « simple phase » et certainement pas une « tendance » (22). Ne pas pouvoir être soi-même peut causer une détresse intense et réelle qui peut conduire à des situations très dangereuses.
Les soins d’affirmation de genre ne visent pas à modifier l’identité de la personne, mais au contraire à l’aider à atteindre son plein potentiel.
