It’s Wear Red Canada day and that means we should talk about heart health. Many of the symptoms of a heart attack can be different for women and gender diverse individuals (1).
Some risk factors for heart disease in women and gender diverse individuals are earlier menopause (i.e. before the age of 50-52 years old), polycystic ovary syndrome, systemic inflammatory and autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, and diabetes (1).
