Canada has lost its measles elimination status after more than 25 years. But this does not mean we throw in the towel – Canada can get the status back once the current outbreak is interrupted for at least 12 months.

The MMRV vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella) remains very safe and effective.
