#ScienceUpFirst, Art Alongside: Pick Your Battles
Good science communication is about picking your battles wisely, especially when you’re discussing a polarizing issue. Are you in a heated moment? A large group setting? That may not be the time for an open and difficult conversation. Sometimes, you can make better progress in a calm, private moment.
This week’s art is brought to you by Weiwei Xu from Ontario! ️
Weiwei is a self-taught artist who loves playing in the visual sandbox of Chinese folklore, casual fantasy, and fish. They have a Science degree, which occasionally informs their art. When away from the canvas, they can be found making noodles or deep-diving into local and internet rabbit holes.
You can find them on Instagram at @itscoolguylink and on Twitter at @peevishpants
Keep your eye out next week for another principle of good science communication from another artist in Canada! And tag a friend to show them just how good science communication can look!
