Flu vaccine rollout usually happens in two phases. In late September to mid-October, priority is generally given to people at higher risk, including young children and adults 65+. Vaccination for the rest of the population typically begins in late October [2].
Timing and availability vary by province, territory and pharmacy. Some pharmacies may have enough supply to vaccinate everyone earlier, so check with your local provider to see when you can get vaccinated!
The bottom line? Get your flu shot as soon as it’s available to you.
