Living through an ecological crisis can bring out big emotions. Many of us are experiencing eco-anxiety, but what exactly is that? How is it different from climate anxiety? Is it a real thing? What are the symptoms? What can trigger it?
Those are all questions we are answering in this post.
While eco-anxiety makes us feel unsafe in our environment based on potential future events, experiencing climate disasters can cause trauma and alter our perception of safety more drastically (3).
