When looking at science, we need to account for all the evidence available.
A systematic review published last month by a reputable and reliable source found that masks might make little to no difference with cases of flu or COVID. It is important to note that this study has its limitations. Because of these limitations, the authors themselves said that they cannot conclude anything yet about the efficacy of masks with regards to COVID-19.
In the context of science, it’s important not to forget all the other systematic reviews and meta-analyses that found masks to be beneficial.
Science is cumulative and one review, while important, should not take away the work of many others. It is, however, a good indication that more work is needed to better evaluate mask efficacy in health and community settings. A topic like masks is complex. The science is likely to continue to evolve. Watch for future research and commentary!

So what’s up with this review saying masks don’t work?
Is this true? Is this coming from a reputable source? What about all the other studies that say masks work?#ScienceUpFirst
