Gender-affirming care has been shown to reduce depression, anxiety, self-harm ideation, mental health disorders, and substance abuse for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals (6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13).
Regret over gender-affirming care is very rare (i.e. less than 1%) (23,24,25). Detransitioning individuals deserve support and care (26), though some may regret their choice does not mean others should lose access to gender-affirming care.
